The City of Loves Park has been of sending out notices to residents informing them they could face a fine of up to $10,000 because because of where people keep garbage cans on their own property.

In Loves Park, you cannot leave your garbage cans in front of your house or in front of your garage. the containers have to be on the side or back of your house

According to a report on Mystateline.com, Loves Park Code enforcement recently did a sweep of the town and noted individuals who left their garbage cans in front of their homes and mailed them notices telling them they may be fined up to $10,000 if they did not move the garbage cans.

If residents don't correct the violation by the date on the notice, they can be taken to court and fined up to $10,000.

The city sweep is part of a larger effort to fight crime and blight, by creating "curb appeal." Officials say this is one more way to make Loves Park more attractive to families.

Let's just say this....many Love's park residents are not feeling "the love" from city officials. many are asking if city officials have better things to do. Apparently, not!
