Fred Hoiberg Is Out As Bulls Coach
After another slow start to the Bulls season, the organization has decided to part ways with head coach Fred Hoiberg.
Hoiberg amassed a 115-155 record in his 3+ seasons with the Bulls, including a 5-19 start to this season. The Bulls reached the playoffs once, a 2016 first round exit, during his tenure and never finished above fourth in the weak Central Division.
The decision to release Hoiberg is getting some criticism. John Paxon and Gar Forman have been in charge of the team since 2009 and this will be their fourth coach that they have gone through. Some think the blame should be shifted to the front office.
Assistant coach Jim Boylan will be named the next head coach and will NOT have the interim label attached to the job.
Fred seems like a nice guy that was not set up to succeed here in Chicago. After the success he had at Iowa State, he will probably be able to choose his job in the college ranks.
