You may have seen some lists recently that shared things Mom does NOT want for Mother's Day, which is coming up this Sunday, May 12.

You can get Mom a card, or flowers, but the only "gift" she really wants from her kids is to spend some quality time with them.

However, it's also true that some moms NEVER get time by themselves so they may want nothing more than just to have some peace and spend quality time alone.

If you want to enjoy some good food while spending time with the woman who brought you into the world, we asked our listeners to share their favorite restaurants and eateries around the Rockford region that have a "mom-approved" Sunday brunch.

Multiple people said Thunder Bay Grille in Rockford was their favorite for a Sunday Brunch with Mom, including Jon F. who said "Thunder Bay is delicious."

Thunder Bay's Mother's Day Buffet will be from 9 am to 4 pm this Sunday and is $35 for adults and $17 for kids 6-12, with all younger kids eating for free.

A couple of others posted and said GreenFire was definitely at the top of their list for brunch in Rockford.

Twyla Houser said they will enjoy the Mother's Day Special at Lino's.

Katie suggested brunch at Fresco at Anderson Japanese Gardens, which is amazing to take Mom on Mother's Day or any other day of the year.

Mom will love a visit to the White Pines Lodge for their Mother's Day Buffet in Mt. Morris. Several people said this is a good one and "worth the drive."

The Norwegian is a personal favorite spot to take someone for brunch, especially for the handcrafted mimosas and lattes. Nobody does it better.

The World Famous Stockholm Inn is inviting you and Mom to their restaurant for a Sunday Brunch that includes the best Swedish pancakes and freshly squeezed OJ.

Johnny Pamcakes had several posts saying that is the best brunch spot in Rockford, but that also be why some posted that you can expect to wait well over an hour to get a table at these favorite food joints on Mother's Day.
