Johnny V. from Q98.5 was waiting outside All Saints Academy on 1st Avenue North to surprise the first winner of his Junior Genius award, powered by U.S. Cellular.

11-year-old Rylee Smith was selected as our November winner after exhibiting diligence and tenacity, some of the characteristics we look for in our Junior Geniuses.

Here is the nomination letter we received for Rylee:

Rylee is one of the hardest working kids I know. She will go out of her way to help anybody and everybody, in and out of school. She plays all kinds of sports at her school and is in a lot of different clubs also. While she works hard at her studies, she doesn’t always get the best grades but she works super hard at anything she does. If she gets her mind on something she won’t stop thinking about it or doing it until it is done. Please consider her. She deserves it.

For her hard work, Rylee is getting a jump at Flo Supreme Air Sports, a cookie from Dirty Dough Cookies, and she will be joining her family at an upcoming Chicago Bulls game during her birthday weekend.

Johnny V. wants to know about it so he can brag about your kids, and recognize them as a Junior Genius with awards, gifts, and accolades.

All of Johnny V's Junior Genius award winners will receive prizes and gifts from Flow Supreme Air Sports, and Dirty Dough Cookies. Plus, all Junior Geniuses are invited to co-host a segment of The Ride Home with Johnny V. between 3 pm and 7 pm weekdays on Q98.5.
