"How many people have to die?..."

Neighbors in the area are hoping for a response from officials in regards to making an intersection on the far west side.

How many people have to die before the city/county does something about the intersection at Springfield and Montague?

That was just one of the comments from a concerned resident on NextDoor. He continued...

We live a quarter mile from there and there have been COUNTLESS horrific accidents there just in the 18 months we have lived here ... just last night ANOTHER!!

POSSIBLE SOLUTION

It isn't surprising to know there are often accidents involving a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed vs a slow or stationary vehicle.

The solution might seem crazy but I'm not alone on this, someone else on NextDoor app had the same idea. Maybe Rockford needs another one of these...

Yes, a roundabout. Sure, they're not accident-free, even though they are easy to comprehend. One this is for sure, it'll slow down vehicles approaching the intersection.
