Winnebago County Fair, the Last Hope For Fun, Has Been Cancelled

Stick a fork in the summer, it's done. This, of course, is if you're a fair junkie. Personally, I'm dying for a hand-dipped, fresh battered corn dog with a side of a giant elephant here. That likely will not be the case in 2020 as Winnebago County Fair has been canceled. As they said on Facebook, they waited until the last possible minute before making this "heartbreaking" decision.

With so many more unknown factors than in a typical year, we believe it is best to cancel this year and move forward with plans for the 2021 Fair.

We know (or at least have to believe) there will be light at the end of this current pandemic tunnel and things will we return back to normal. Normally, btw, meaning fairs, festivals, and concerts, and conventions. The folks in charge of Winnebago County Fair are hoping able to use the festival grounds in some capacity this year.

As new information becomes available, we hope we can make use of the grounds in some capacity.

This means all the major 2020 fairs in the area have been canceled; Boone County Fair, Green County Fair, Stephenson County Fair, Ogle County Fair, and Winnebago County Fair. But, if you're down for a drive, Lafayette County Fair in Darlington, Wisconsin (scheduled for July 15-19) is still happening as of this writing, same goes for Walworth County Fair in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
