There has been plenty of discussion recently about how our state of Illinois is leading the Midwest in what's called outbound migration. Outbound migration is another way of saying "leaving where they are and heading to someplace else," as in getting out of Illinois for better opportunities elsewhere.

Now, thanks to a study by Illinois Policy, we've learned that in spite of what some will tell you, Illinois is not just losing retirees to the sunbelt. We're losing our young people, especially millennials, not just to the sunbelt but to our neighboring Midwest states.
