We now know the answer. The Naperville Police took to social media on Monday to let us know the contents of the mystery envelope

To the mystery person leaving thank you notes and gift cards on the windshields of our squad cars ... THANK YOU for your support! Your kind gesture means the world to our officers.

In this day and age of police confrontations, its great to see a nice positive and seeing a member of the community taking a moment to say thank you. So what was inside the envelope, you wonder?

Starbucks! So you were thinking Dunkin Donuts would have been more appropriate? Oh, cut it out.
