Tomorrow is Veteran's Day, so be sure to take a moment to honor the brave men and women who have served our great country. They are heroes, and they deserve our respect and deep gratitude.

Fly those flags proudly, and check out these local Veteran's Day celebrations tomorrow:

  • The Field of Honor Veteran's Memorial located inside Arthur W. Anderson Peace Park at 100 Heart Blvd in Loves Park will host a tribute to veterans at 10a.m. on Tuesday.  Veteran sergeant Glenn Heidenreich of the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department will speak with music provided by the Harlem High School Band and Choir.   • The 15th Annual Veteran's Day Celebration, hosted by Rock Valley College and the RVC Student Veteran's Association, will take place at Noon on Tuesday in the student center atrium on Rock Valley's Main Campus at 3301 N Mulford Road.   • Veteran's Day program at Veteran's Memorial Hall at 211 N Main St. in Rockford at 11a.m. on Tuesday. Major General John Borling, a fighter pilot, flight instructor and commander, will speak. Visit veteransmemorialhall.com for more information.
  • The Vietnam Veterans Honor Society will be honoring those who have served at 11a.m. on Tuesday at the LZ Peace Memorial at Midway Village Museum at 6799 Guilford Road in Rockford. Visit lzpeace.org for more information.
