Two Rockford Schnucks Stores Will Close For Good This Summer
Your favorite grocery store might not be open when you plan to do your weekly grocery shopping.
WREX is reporting that two Schnucks grocery stores will close for good at 6 p.m. on Sunday July 8.
The stores on Mulford Road and Rockton Avenue in Rockford will be shutting down for good this summer.
When news like this hits, we always feel terrible for the employees, but in this case, WREX is reporting that those who work at the closing stores will be offered positions at the remaining Schnucks locations at the same pay rate, which is pretty commendable for the Schnucks corporation.
WREX reports the stores are closing because business is slow and the cost of keeping the stores is too much.
