There's a road that officials are temporarily shutting down but, lucky for them, some of us may never travel on it again after reading this.

There's a stretch of road in Shawnee National Forest that will be shut down for several weeks to allow snakes, frogs, salamanders, and other animals to migrate across the street to where they will spend their winter. According to The Southern Illinoisan, some of these creatures are endangered. I totally understand the merit of the closure and the importance of it. What I don't appreciate is the image currently in my head.

This whole scenario is was nightmares are made of. In fact, I'd be shocked if there isn't at least one horror or weird sci-fi movie with a scene of hundreds of snakes slithering on a road.
