I've lived in Rockford my whole life, and it seems like every day I find out about something I never knew existed.

Today's Rockford lesson was taught to me by Stateline Kids on Facebook, and I am actually embarrassed to admit I never knew about this family fun option until now.

I have been to Klehm Arboretum and Gardens in Rockford more times than I can count. I have attended weddings and parties there. I have walked the grounds numerous times during their annual Garden Fair Weekend every June, but apparently I have not walked far enough on the grounds to realize they actually have a splash pad and kids' creek my girls would LOVE to play in.

Will you forgive my ignorance if I tell you all about the Nancy Olson Children's Garden at Klehm Arboretum now?

According to Klehm's website;

The Nancy Olson Children’s Garden is located inside the East Loop of the Arboretum, just beyond the koi pond with its charming wooden bridge. Named in honor of a devoted Klehm member, the garden is designed to encourage children to explore the many wonders of nature.

The Nancy Olson Children's Garden is not only home to interactive nature exhibits for kids, but to a Kids' Creek, splash pad and a fountain even I can't wait to check out this summer!

Ready for the good news? Statelinekids.com says all this outdoor fun is officially open through Labor Day weekend at Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Gardens at 2715 S. Main St. in Rockford. The Garden is open daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the cost is $8 per adult, $5 per child (ages 4-17), kids 3 and under are free.

If you already know your family will be hitting up this splash pad often this summer, a great money-saving tip would be to purchase a family membership to Khlem for $75. Find out more about membership options at klehm.org.

Thanks for always keeping me in the loop about fun things to do with my kids in Rockford, Stateline Kids. Pretty sure we would be bored without you.
