Thousands of Washing Machine Owners to Get a Refund

Own a washing machine? You might be getting a big refund.

The reason? Mold! If you currently own or have owned a front-loading washing machine that was made between 2001 and 2011, you might have cash coming your way.

Brands affected include:

• Whirlpool
• Kenmore
• Maytag

The reason is that some of these machines named in the class action settlement were supposed to self-clean, and failed to do so causing problems with mold, which in turn caused unpleasant odors and in some cases, even ruined clothes that were put in the machine when doing laundry
