This Week’s Hometown Hero Has a Big Heart For Hospice Patients
What a great moment it was to hear why Scott Hale of Rockford is deserving of 'Hometown Hero' status. Scott is an army veteran and Chaplain for Hospice Care of American and he has a huge heart with it comes to patients on the final stretch of their journey in life. He was nominated by Abbie P. who shared why Scott is so deserving of this nomination. In our brief phone conversation, Lil Zim and I quickly picked up on the emotion in her voice as she told us about Scott's work.
Scott Hale is our phenomenal Chaplain at Hospice Care of America. He visits patients during the last months of their lives to provide companionship and spiritual support. Scott always goes above and beyond with making sure his patients know they are loved and cared for, even if they don't have family of their own. Scott is also an Army Veteran; and through Hospice Care of America he is able to provide recognition ceremonies to our Veteran patients to thank them for their service. Overall, Scott is an amazing human with a big heart and deserves some recognition of his own.
It is people like Scott Hale who are a reminder of the love that exists in this world with far too many dark moments. Scott is the perfect example of serving others from the heart with no other reward in mind other than bringing comfort to another human being in a time of great need. Like all of our "Hometown Heroes", Scott was rewarded with a $100 Amazon gift card courtesy of our friends from Gustafon's Furniture & Mattress.
