I'm a big supporter of wearing face masks in public to protect yourself and others from COVID-19, but that doesn't mean wearing them doesn't suck.

It feels like I have tried hundreds of face masks in the months since this whole pandemic mess began, and to this day, I have only found ONE that doesn't make me hate my life while wearing it.

I went to the dentist not long ago and felt so bad for my hygenist who had to wear a medical mask, an N95 mask, and a face shield. I know I would never be able to do that for 8 plus hours a day, so she's a real rock star!

As I sit here feeling pretty optimistic about the tide this pandemic is turning, especially in the Rockford area,  I see this article on WIFR's website and immediately said, 'Oh, Hell no'. The article says;

More experts are saying wearing two masks or masks with extra layers could be more effective in stopping the spread of COVID-19 and the new strains of the virus that are emerging.

White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci told TODAY on Monday he believes extra layers could lower the risk of an infected person spreading the virus to others because of the barriers.

I'll admit that thinking makes sense, but I still don't want to play that game. The article also states that the CDC has not yet updated their guidelines to include double mask-wearing, but I fear that could be coming soon as more COVID-19 strains arise.

Can we all just compromise to make a real effort to wear just one mask in public so we aren't later forced to double up the misery? PLEASE?!?
