The Big Change That Could be Coming to Steak ‘N Shake’s Milkshakes
If you've got the word "Shakes" in your name, you better make some REALLY GOOD milkshakes. And I can personally attest to the fact that they do.
Sign me up for a strawberry milkshake ANY time of day. But you know the best part of a milkshake right? When you've got the little hole in the top of the lid and you try to perform a mini magic trick of sucking up the cherry into your mouth. Either that, or you hate them and give the cherry to the passenger.
Either way, the cherry is an iconic part of any milkshake! Well, after Steak and Shake lost around $19 million in their first quarter, they started looking at ways to cut expenses. The CEO suggested something crazy ... CBS News details -
Steak 'n Shake is hemorrhaging cash, and its CEO did little to inspire confidence in his ability to turn things around when he suggested cutting costs by ditching the cherries that have adorned the struggling restaurant's chain's signature milkshakes for more than 80 years.
Ditching the cherry's would save $1 million a year.
BUT AT WHAT COST? Don't take away my favorite part of getting a milkshake! Ditch the million and keep the cherries.
