The Grandstand at the Illinois State Fair continues to add entertainment to the lineup this summer.

Acclaimed Band Added to Illinois State Fair Grandstand Lineup

The Illinois State Fair is adding another nationally recognized act to its 2026 concert lineup, announcing that the Avett Brothers will perform at the Illinois Lottery Grandstand Stage on Thursday, August 20, in Springfield.

Known for blending folk, rock, bluegrass, and Americana influences, the four-time Grammy-nominated band has built a loyal fan base through emotionally driven songwriting and energetic live performances.

Illinois officials say the concert reflects the fair's continued push to attract high-profile national acts to downstate Illinois.

Chart-Topping Success Continues for The Avett Brothers

The band broke into mainstream success with their 2009 major-label debut, I and Love and You, and later achieved Billboard success with albums such as The Carpenter and Magpie and the Dandelion.

Their 2016 releaseTrue Sadness, marked a major milestone, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Albums chart and earning two Grammy nominations.

Illinois Officials Highlight Major Entertainment Draw

Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II called the group "a perfect addition" to the fair's diverse entertainment schedule.

Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark said the band's authenticity and energy will make the performance a standout event.

Tickets go on sale May 16 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Prices range from $58 to $123, with optional pre-show party upgrades available. The 2026 Illinois State Fair runs August 13 through August 23.
