‘Tallest Water Coaster in the World’ to Debut This Weekend in Illinois

It might not be perfect weather for some water fun this weekend, but there's plenty of summer days coming.

Lucky for us too, because the "Tallest Water Coaster in the World" is just a car ride away and it's right here in Illinois.

OK, SO WHAT'S IT CALLED?

After being delayed a year presumably due to COVID-19, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is ready to unleash its 25th water coaster. Titled Tsunami Surge, it's touted as the ultimate water coaster.

Six Flags:

This state-of-the-art water attraction will be the tallest water coaster in the world towering over 86 feet high, using water-blasting jet-propulsion technology for lightning-fast uphill speeds and adrenaline-pumping drops. The thrilling, new coaster will propel riders through 950 feet of slides and tunnels at a speed of 42 feet per second.

WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TSUNAMI SURGE

The Thrill Level for the brand new Tsunami Surge is listed as "high" according to the Six Flags website, so you know going in this ride isn't for the faint of heart.

This one is for the thrill-seekers, the folks who are looking to get the absolute biggest bang for their buck. In other words, this water coaster was made for anyone looking to have all the fun.
