Spring of Deception is about to happen as temperatures are forecast to hit near 80, but that's just before a Third Winter arrives with the potential for accumulating snow and ice.

5 Straight Days with a High Chance of Rain or Snow

According to the latest National Weather Service forecast for the Rockford region, Wednesday (3/26) will be Mostly Sunny with highs in the mid-50s, then a wet stretch of weather.

Late Wednesday into the overnight hours, there's a 40 percent chance of rain, with showers expected to continue into Thursday morning (3/27).

Thursday night, there's a possibility of a thunderstorm moving through late, with rain and thunderstorms continuing through 10 am on Friday when highs are expected to be in the mid-70s.

Friday night, the National Weather Service has a 40 percent chance of showers for the Rockford area, and the rain is likely to continue through Saturday when the high should be near 70.

Spring Snow and Ice Storm Possible Late Sunday

On Sunday, showers are again likely, but high temperatures will cool off into the upper 50s. Sunday night, rain and snow showers are likely with some accumulation expected with flurries continuing overnight and into Monday morning.

The current prediction for Rockford has about 1 inch of accumulation, while areas north into Wisconsin could see 3 or more inches of snow and ice, according to the Weather Channel. 

Looking ahead to the first week of April, there's everything from rain to snow predicted, with highs in the upper-50s and lows in the mid-30s, according to the Weather Channel extended forecast.
