Mind-blowing smoked meat tacos and 'decadent' margaritas are about to change your life. California's hottest Baja-style taco joint is soon to become a new favorite.

It's been a bit since I've been this excited about the opening of a chain restaurant. Everything I've read and everything I've seen about this new taco and margarita spot is outstanding.

All the meats are either cooked on a wood-fired grill or a smoker. And the margaritas are becoming legendary both for their size and unique recipes.

California's Solita Tacos is coming to Illinois

The popular Baja-style taco and margarita restaurant, with locations in Huntington Beach, Valencia, and Long Beach, will be opening a new location in Chicago in August at 431 N. Wells Street, the former site of party bar, Pink Taco.

Chicago Eater gave up the delicious details and I could not be more excited to have my first of many trips to Solita Tacos.

The vibe is super casual, just take a look at the space, which we hear will look very similar to the Solita location in Long Beach, California.

"Ownership will outfit the kitchen with a wood-fired grill and smoker for a variety of meats for tacos such as the best-selling Vampiro (cheese, serranos, chipotle sauce, carne asada or chicken) and smoked Pork Belly Dorado (Amarillo hot sauce, onions), as well as hefty entrees like oak-smoked pork ribs (chipotle rub, grilled chiles toreadors) sold by the pound. It’ll also offer 20 salsas, all made on site, eight varieties of margaritas, and numerous other sweet, savory, and spicy tequila-based cocktails", according to Chicago Eater.
