Rockford now sits at number 10 on the list of largest snowstorms in Rockford history.

The snow has wound down across the stateline, but the effects remain as many schools have called off classes for Monday.

NIU has cancelled classes today. Due to extreme weather conditions, Northern Illinois University’s main DeKalb campus and satellite locations will be closed Monday, Feb. 2. Classes have been canceled at all NIU campuses.

Only personnel associated with essential services and operations will be required to report to work per established procedures.
