The Rockford Police reported a shooting just before 10 pm tonight (Thursday) on the city's north end.

According to a post on the @RockfordPD Twitter (X) account at 9:59 pm on Thursday, June 6, there was an adult male shot in the 2600 block of Lawndale Avenue, which is located across the street from the Javon Bea Hospital - Rockton.

The injuries of the man shot in the incident were unknown at the time of the report, and no further details about the victim were available at the time the post on @RockfordPD's X page was made.

According to the Rockford Police, a possible suspect in the shooting has been detained as the investigation continues, and further details will be released as they become available.
