If you think you are having a bad day, just listen to this story about a Mount Morris girl and your thinking will be different.

WIFR TV reported about a seven year old girl named Emmalyn Freeze who lives in Mount Morris. She is suffering from Chiari malformation, which is a defect of the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls balance.

Emmalyn has gone thru not one, not two but SEVEN brain surgeries. Now, she is preparing for surgery number eight next month.

The defect causes her to have two to three severe headaches a day. Leg pains keep her up at night. And she has to get a shot every other day because she can get a fever and infection very easily.

And what does this courageous girl have to say about all of this?

"She's very strong through every brain surgery she has. She’s usually propping up the next day with a smile on her face. She's very optimistic. She's usually the one with the smile saying it will all be OK. That's one of her favorite things. 'It will all be ok'. Do you say that a lot. It will be OK? Yes,' says Stephanie Freeze, Emmalyn’s mom."

They will be spending three weeks in New York after her surgery.

So, prayers to her and the family. She is a fighter and I hope that she can win this fight. I also take a look at her battle and draw strength from that. Hopefully, you will do the same.
