No matter what side of the aisle you're on, you have to admit when one of our own is about to make history for our state we should be proud.

Senator Tammy Duckworth is going to be that lady to do it for Illinois. As she will be the first senator to give birth while in office.

In our Congressional history there have been only 9 other women to do this.

However, according to WGN, these congresswomen belonged to the House of Representatives. Senator Duckworth will be the first ever to have a baby as a serving senator.

Wow! You have to admit, that's kind of cool.

To me as an older single woman, what else is cool about this historical marker is that Tammy Duckworth is 49 years old. She'll be 50 when her daughter will be born.

That is so awesome and encouraging to me. She's doing what she loves, she's successful, a patriot and she's having a baby when many would consider her too old to do that.

I say good for her and congratulations!.

I wish Tammy and her husband Bryan all the best.

I pray for a healthy, happy baby girl for them come April!
