On December 2, 2016 the Rockford community stepped up to help us collect over 7,000 toys for needy children in the Stateline at the annual 12 Hours of Salvation Army Toy Drive at the Lou Bachrodt Automall. This week the toys were handed out by the Salvation Army to thousands of thankful local families, along with food and lots of love.

I truly believe a giving heart is a happy heart, and I am always so proud to be a citizen of Rockford when I see how the community continually steps up to help our neighbors in need.  In case you missed the toy drive this year, here's just a few of our favorite pictures from the magical day...

I get that we all harbor some ill feelings about this city from time to time, but how can we not feel the pride after seeing pictures like that, or videos like this. Together we made a huge difference for so many local families this Christmas, and for that I say, thank you. May God bless you all this holiday season.
