That's because the Climate Prediction Center is calling for near-average temperatures for Thanksgiving in 2025 for Rockford. That means, well, what exactly is average for November 27, 2025? The average high expected for that day is 43°F.

Mostly Dry Weather Predicted for Northern Illinois

With the help of the Farmer's Almanac, NBC 5 in Chicago says we can expect "mostly dry weather" in northern Illinois this Thanksgiving.

If these predictions hold, it'll be reminiscent of last year's Thanksgiving weather: a little chilly but not freezing, with no snow or anything inclement to make travel difficult. It's actually the best kind of late Fall holiday weather you could ask for, to be fair.

A Thanksgiving Forecast That’s Easy to Be Thankful For

If we could get a mild winter throughout, that would be something I would be OK with as well. That remains to be seen.
