Rockford Sharefest Needs Volunteers This Week to Help Revamp Lockwood Park
Rockford Sharefest has taken on a BIG task with their 2018 Summer Project...they have chosen to give the buildings, fences, shelters, playgrounds and trails on the 146 acres of Lockwood Park some major TLC. Work began last Friday, June 1, and will conclude this Saturday, June 9.
Here's where you and I come in. Sharefest volunteers have already made a huge difference alongside the staff of Lockwood Park, but a whole lot of projects still need to be done, and hundreds of volunteers are needed to meet their Saturday deadline.
If you don't mind giving up a couple hours of your day, or are part of a group that prides itself in being part of the "good" in Rockford, please sign up for a volunteer shift now at rockfordsharefest.ivolunteer.com.
There are 3 shifts available every day through this Saturday that volunteers are able to sign up for. They are: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 to 5 p.m., or 6 to 9 p.m.
If you are not able to physically help at Sharefest's project at Lockwood Park, but would still like to do something to help, you can always donate money to cover the project's expenses now at rockfordsharefest.com/donate.
