
Rockford Police Narcotics Unit Arrests Three in Major Drug Investigations
A series of narcotics investigations in Rockford led to major drug seizures and felony charges against three suspects.
Multiple Warrants Lead to Major Seizures
According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, the Narcotics Unit was recently involved in investigations that resulted in multiple arrests, large narcotics seizures, and firearms being taken off the street.

RPD officials say three suspects have been charged in separate incidents, but according to the report, all three have since been released by the court.
Hutchins and Newport Avenue Investigations
Police executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of Hutchins Avenue in May of this year (2025), and seized two handguns, more than 200 grams of cocaine, fentanyl pills, cannabis, and cash.
The suspect, 30-year-old Sadie Turner, was charged with multiple counts of delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful use of weapons by a felon.

While she was on pre-trial release, Turner was again investigated, and on August 19, police seized over 70 grams of cannabis from a Newport Avenue residence. She now faces new charges of possession with intent to deliver cannabis and delivery of a controlled substance.
Huffman and Cameron Avenue Cases
On August 20, Rockford PD executed a warrant in the 2300 block of Huffman Boulevard, where more than 15 grams of heroin, cocaine, and a handgun were recovered.
32-year-old Jaquavia Thompson was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and cocaine, according to the report.
Just over a week later, on August 28, a search warrant was issued in the 200 block of Cameron Avenue, where RPD were able to recover over 300 grams of cocaine, 850 grams of cannabis, multiple prescription pills, methadone, and THC wax.
30-year-old Kenneth Sowells now faces multiple charges for possession with intent to deliver narcotics.
Ongoing Investigations
According to the Rockford Police press release, additional charges may be coming in this case, and anyone who has information is urged to contact RPD at 815-966-2900 or submit an anonymous tip through Rockford Area Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867.
