Breakdown of Enforcement

The enforcement effort by Rockford Police resulted in 46 seat belt citations, 39 speeding violations, and 18 driver's license citations.

Officers also made seven criminal arrests and issued 83 additional citations for various traffic infractions. According to the report, the operation targeted impaired drivers, distracted motorists, and those failing to follow basic traffic laws.

Statewide Safety Effort

The Rockford Police Department worked with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners across Illinois for this traffic safety campaign.

The initiative was part of Illinois' "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," "Drive High Get a DUI," and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns, funded through federal highway safety grants administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Ongoing Safety Initiatives

Officials said the Labor Day safety campaign highlights the department's ongoing efforts to reduce crashes and save lives by keeping impaired and reckless drivers off Illinois roads.

Rockford Police encourage residents to always drive sober, obey speed limits, and buckle up to prevent accidents and keep everyone safe on the road.
