Have you ever taken your dog to any of Rockford's dog parks?

This Saturday Rockford Park District invites you and your dog(s) to their Canine Corners Fall Festival.

In this WREX story, the Rockford Park District "invites owners and their furry friends to enjoy the outdoors and see what Rockford's local dog parks have to offer."

The event is free and will be at the Canine Corners' Searls Park location at 4950 Safford Road on Saturday Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children can also attend the event if they are 12 or older. Local vendors will be attending the event, and training demonstrations and dog park etiquette tips will be provided.

There will also be a a bucket raffle with several great prizes including a 32 inch television, passes to Rockford Park District venues, dog treats and more. The best park is that all the proceeds will go back to supporting special projects for all of the Rockford dog parks.

If you've never taken your dog to Canine Corners, you have three parks to choose from: Searls Park (where the Fall Festival is), Elliot Park at 888 South Lyford Road and Olson Park at 7901 Harlem Road in Loves Park.

All three locations are open year round and it's a safe place that you can let your dog off the leash to run, play and socialize with one another in a fenced secured area.

Wow! Sure makes me wish I had a dog. Sounds like a fun time. Well maybe someday when I get my Siberian Husky I know where I can take it to play here in Rockford.
