Additional movies are being made to get the vaccine closer to as many Illinois residents as possible. A chance to get your shot at work.

The latest COVID-19 vaccine effort toward getting Illinois closer to being full reopened faster, could possibly mean a shot being available right where you work, or very close by. Herd immunity by summer is within reach and life being more like it used to be.

Governor J.B. Pritzker announced a new state plan along with the Building Owners and Managers Association and local unions that includes ten new vaccine sites in Chicago, Schaumburg and Rockford. This plan would create more opportunities for front desk staff, custodial workers, security, building engineers, and more, a chance to get vaccinated if they wish.

Two of the state's ten new vaccine sites are in the city of Rockford

Stewart Square at 308 W. State Street in downtown Rockford and the other site is in the former Fifth Third Bank on S. Alpine Road.

How to schedule a vaccination

The plan asks for employees to sign up for an appointment in advance. Two appointments would be required as these will be two-shot vaccine clinics. Ultimately, outreach will be conducted to neighboring buildings as well.

That outreach can start with you. Illinois building operators, if you're interested in hosting additional clinics, please contact IDPH directly or contact the Building Owners and Managers Association.
