If you haven't finished raking your leaves yet, you may want to get a move on it.  The season's first snow may be on its way for the Rockford Area

Just when you found your rake, you may need to exchange it for a shovel this weekend. According to Chicago Fox 32 Meteorologist Mike Caplan, Rockford may see it's first snowfall this weekend.

The snowfall is forecast to happen during the day on Sunday and could amount to 2.7" in Rockford by 8 pm on Sunday night.

The estimate is based on a weather forecasting prediction tool called the European model. The European forecasting model is one of several models used by meteorologists to predict the weather. The other forecasting models, at this time, are not predicting as much snow.

Between now and Sunday, things could change, of course.
