Wind and rain from the weekend brought in the most unpleasing part of autumn, the fallen leaves. Here's a reminder on the proper way to dispose of them.

So leaves are everywhere (including my car) and if you're a homeowner within Rockford city limits YOU CAN NOT BURN. And, as a reminder, city officials want you to get rid of your yard waste correctly. By  "correctly" I think they mean not blowing them into the street or your neighbor's yard.

Thankfully, WIFR shared the reminder.

Residents can dispose [sic] leaves and other yard waste during their regular garbage pick-up day. Waste collectors will take biodegradable 30-40 gallon paper bags. Bags and other containers with yard waste cannot weight more than 50 pounds. The city also advises against mixing yard waste with regular garbage.

Do the right thing this autumn, and play nice.
