Rockford Family Video On Charles Street Apparently Shutting Down

For a chain of video stores that touts openings, it looks like one of their places is headed for a shuttering.

That's the story across the nation, where reports of thriving Family Video locations run rampant.

Apparently, that goes for seemingly everywhere except Rockford where Family Video on Charles Street is headed for closure.

Bryce Langendorf on Facebook said:

September 18th is the official closing date.

A quick call to confirm the location revealed that the store is actually closing on Wednesday, September 11.

On the bright side, Langendorf did mention now is the time to pick up all of the movies you've been waiting on because they are going at liquidation level prices.

In January we reported on the closure of Marco's Pizza who shared a space at the same location as Family Video on Charles Street.

Must've been a sign of things to come that everyone in Rockford missed. The other Family Video locations in the Rockford area will remain open.
