Trunk or treats is the new hot thing to take your kid to at Halloween, and there are a bunch of them happening this week and next in the Rockford area. See the list here, and get ready for a major sugar-high!

I have never been to a truck or treat before, and I will admit they have always made me a little sad. Don't get me wrong, I think trunk or treats are a great idea as a parent, but I hate that they have now taken the fun out of good ole fashioned trick or treating. I believe the neighborhood I live in is a safe one, and I wish we would see more kids at our door on Halloween night.

That being said, I think my daughter Ella would love to go to a trunk or treat this year, (not to mention Mom and Dad would love getting extra runs for the good money spent on this year's costume), so here are some local trunk or treats and other Halloween fun I found on northernillinoiscouponing.com.

Parents, just think about it, if you planned your strategy right you could score a years worth of candy to freeze and enjoy at will. Please notice how I said "you could score," and not "your kids could score." No kid needs that much candy unless the parents are a glutton for punishment. Rationing is key here.

If you have any Halloween events coming up, comment below and we'll add them to the list!

Happy Halloween!
