5 New Businesses That Could Move Into the Former Aldi on Auburn St. in Rockford

Ever since Aldi opened a new store n E Riverside and permanently closed the store on Auburn St. in Rockford people have wondered what business will take over the vacant building. Now we think we have the answer.

What Will Happen to the Old Aldi Location on Auburn St.?

Besides losing stores and restaurants we love, I have seeing businesses close because it means another building in Rockford could sit empty for years and fall into disrepair.

Will this be the case for the old Aldi on Auburn St.? I sure hope not!!

Will the building be torn down completely to make room for a new construction? Not likely.

Will a business move in, revamp the space, and make it their own? I think these pictures say, YES!

What Business Is Moving Into the Old Aldi on Auburn Street?

For weeks now the unanswered question of what business is moving into the former Aldi space on Auburn St. has driven me crazy!

It's obvious from the outside that major renovations are taking place inside the building but for what? Or maybe I should say, whom?

Despite all of my Googling, I have not been able to find a concrete answer to what is moving into that building, so I did the next best thing...I ask YOU.

Many people commented that ANOTHER slots place would be taking over the building, but I don't think that's true. Here's are some other ideas...

Car wash the way they're poppin up everywhere.

A dispensary.

Omg I bet it's strip club.

From what I've heard best buy bought the building.

How about a grocery store. That part of town definitely needs one.

I know for sure its a dollar tree.

And now we're onto something.

I'm not sure how the person knows "for sure" that a Dollar Tree is taking over the former Aldi location, but the green edging on the space above the new front entrance is all I needed to see to believe that's true.

What do you think? Is Rockford getting another Dollar Tree soon?
