Remnants of Tropical Storm to Hit Rockford This Week
Tropical Storm Cristobal has already dropped devastating amounts of rainfall throughout the south and the now-labeled Tropical Depression is swinging upward through our neck of the woods.
Tomorrow and Wednesday's forecasts call for a whole bunch of rain in the Rockford area and throughout eastern Iowa, and middle Illinois all the way up to the entire Wisconsin border. Rockford's high is still expected to hit 90 on Tuesday but with a whole lot of rain. This, of course, will be courtesy of Cristobal, now downgraded to a Tropical Depression.
Domenica Davis from TWC did not specifically mention Rockford by name but in this video (at :41 seconds), the predicted path of Cristobal will travel directly over Rockford. Tuesday afternoon you had better have an umbrella ready, maybe even some rain boots. Some of the effects include wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour and between a one-half to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall, according to Weather.gov
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 2pm. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
As of this article, there are not any flood warnings for Rockford but, per the usual midwest weather, that could change in a hurry.
