No strangers to being at No. 1, Rascal Flatts are back at the top of the charts once again. The band’s infectious single “I Like The Sound of That” has hit No. 1 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase charts.

Penned by Jesse Frasure, pop star Meghan Trainor and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay, the single is the latest release from the Flatts' current album, Rewind, which has also seen success on the charts. When Rewind was released in 2014, it premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, making the band one of only four acts in recorded history to have eight consecutive albums debut at No. 1.

“I Like The Sound of That,” Rascal Flatts' 16th career No. 1, made its way to the country trio after Dan + Shay declined to record it.

“I actually called Jason Owen, Dan + Shay’s manager, and said, ‘Why aren’t they cutting this song? It doesn’t make any sense to me. This is a smash,'” Jay DeMarcus recalled at a press conference in February. “But [Mooney] was kind enough to give it to us.”

Says Gary LeVox in a statement, "We've had a lot of fun with this single. It’s a blessing and humbling to be achieving milestones such as these, and it just motivates us even more to keep going on this crazy journey with our amazing fans."

In support of the single, Rascal Flatts are headed out on the road this summer. The Rhythm and Roots Tour will kick off in Charlotte, N.C., on June 17, and feature Kelsea Ballerini and Chris Lane as opening acts.
