During Sunday nights Blackhawks game I saw a story about an organization that the team supports called Rags of Honor. This company helps our returning veterans and those that are homeless get back on their feet while providing job training.

Rags of Honor is a "custom silk screen and apparel company that hires veterans who are either homeless or are chronically unemployed after serving our company."

The company, according to their website says, that they "set out to make a difference for those who have served our country by building a company that honors their service. At Rags of Honor they pay a living wage, offer continuing education and training and help our veterans with life skills that they need to continue their life’s journey with dignity."

Their motto is "They had are backs. Let's keep the shirt on theirs." Basically, every time a t-shirt or other apparel are purchased it goes back to helping our veterans.

Now that is really cool. This company makes me proud. Proud to be an American, serving those that served for us.

You know what else makes me proud helping the families of military soldiers who are currently serving our country. Q98.5 has the privilege to partner with Townsquare Cares for Military Families.

It's our way of giving back and thanking our enlisted men and women, and their families, in the Rockford area who sacrifice so much for all of us all year long. Now through Veterans Day, November 11th, you can make a cash donation of any amount and Townsquare Cares will put everyone’s donations together and get money to families of actively deployed troops — right here in our area – to help those families have a brighter, easier holiday season.
