A day after a plane crash at the Chicago Rockford International Airport, a possible explanation of what happened has been identified.

In an audio recording of communication between the tower and the pilot of the aircraft, the discussion of running out of fuel was discussed.

ATC- "You said you were requesting priorities or something wrong with the aircraft?"

PILOT: "Yeah, I just lost the transfer pump here, so I might have a little less fuel on one side than I thought. I don't want to come in with one single engine."

ATC: "Roger"

An investigation of the crash continues and officials have not released the exact cause of incident.

WIFR-TV reports that four of the aircraft's passengers had to be taken to the hospital. Two individuals had to be extricated from the plane.
