It seems, as of late, there have been a lot of businesses closing. But, what makes this story strange, is what happened to the business less than 24 hours later.

On Wednesday, it was announced that all five of Illinois' Topper pizza locations closed abruptly. Topper's was known for their unique pizzas and their signature cheesy bread sticks and late night dining hours, perfect for a college town like DeKalb.

To make matters worse, the restaurant caught on fire. According to police, the person who set the fire was a former employee who caused approximately $10,000 in damage. The Daily Chronicle reports that Eric Carlton, of DeKalb, was charged with burglary and arson.

Carlton's motive for starting the fire is not known, but police tell the daily Chronicle he stole two two-liter bottles of pop and food.

I'll have to say I'm gonna miss the place, their bread sticks were the best. In addition to DeKalb, Toppers also closed all four of its locations in Chicago.
