Police Warn of Possible Child Abductor in Belvidere
A very scary moment occurred in Belvidere on Thursday and police need your help.
Belvidere police issued an alert to parents and citizens on Friday in reference to an incident that occurred on Thursday afternoon that has the community concerned.
According to police, at approximately 4 pm on Thursday, several children were playing in front of one of the residences in the 1500 block of Wildrose. A driver of a white Dodge Intrepid stopped and told the children to get in his car. The children, knowing better, ran inside and told an adult what happened.
Police were called and arrived at 4:30 p.m., but could not locate the vehicle. Police also notified other parents of children what had happened. One of the parents had access to security video of the suspected video. Below are screen shots from the video.
Police say the man driving the white Intrepid is in his 60's. No license plate number was identified
