Late Sunday night, the Genoa Police Department released information regarding a threat made to Genoa High School.

According to a press release, the Genoa Police Department said they notified that school employee received a threat to the school via social media. Details of the exact nature and contents of the threat were not released to the public.

The press released also said:

The Police Department takes this threat very seriously and have taken several steps to secure the safety of everyone at the school. An increased police presence will be at the school all day. The other schools will also have a noticeable police presence. All of the schools will be checked again throughout the school day. An active investigation is on going to identify the sender of the threat.

School will be IN SESSION on Monday at all G-K schools.
