Pics From Inside Three Deserted Rockford Schools Before Demolition Is A Mood
It's sad, amazing, haunting and eerie all at the same time when you check out pics of deserted areas.
Not sure why I have such an affinity for desolate looking buildings but I'm enthralled by the sight.
It might have something to do with how much I enjoy movies, TV, books, and comics centered around post-apocalyptic settings.
I'm sure drtonahue on Instagram feels the same way too because the pictures shared on Instagram of empty deserted buildings are all hauntingly beautiful.
The pictures shared today depict three former Rockford public schools that have all met a similar fate since the end of the school year in 2018. All three schools were torn down.
First, it was the historic Walker Elementary (closed since 2016) along with Thompson and White Swan Schools.
Sadly, nothing was going to stop those three schools from being shuttered, or ever coming back. The pics show what was left behind in the classrooms, hallways and even a gymnasium.
The pictures, however, managed to capture the final days in a way that every former student, faculty or staff member can hold on to forever.
