One of Illinois’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives Captured Near DeKalb
A man on the list of Illinois' 10 Most Wanted criminals was arrested just a couple miles from DeKalb Tuesday evening.
Westchester Illinois resident Floyd Robinson, 30, was arrested Cortland, as a result of a traffic stop. According to the Illinois Dept of Corrections, Robinson is a parole absconder, and has fugitive warrant out. . He was charged with obstructing Identification after he provided sheriff's deputies with a fake name.
Robinson is a registered child sex offender. Illinois Dept of Corrections records also indicate he was sentenced to five years in prison.
He was convicted of :
- aggravated criminal sexual assault in 2005 in Cook County
- loitering on a public way in 2015 in DeKalb County
According to a media report, DeKalb County Sheriff's police arrested Robinson near the intersection of Route 38 and Chase Rd. just east of Cortland. He was a passenger in a vehicle was stopped for speeding.
