It looks like the Black Hawk statue in Oregon is getting some love and upgrades. State officials are inviting guests to share their ideas about what to do with $600,000 in the form of a plaza. Some ideas that show be shared include a multi-season room for events, parties, and weddings. Other ideas that don't sound too bad would be a place to zip line or Ferris wheel. (Hey, I can dream...)

"Now that the money is lined up and the contracts are signed [to repair the statue itself], we are looking at the area around it,” Bellovics said. “Since the community has been so involved in the process, we wanted to engage them in planning for the plaza."

Sauk Valley Media says attendees will be "put into groups" to collectively come up with an idea for the plaza. The meeting is Tuesday, January 22, at 6:30 p.m. at Nash Recreation Center in Oregon.
