It's finals week at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

If you've ever been a college student, you know this week can be the absolute worst. Not only are you slammed with tests, but you also know a much-needed winter break is just on the other side of your final classes of the first semester.

The university decided its students could use some encouragement and positive thoughts to help them power through the week.

Students walking through MLK Commons near the center of campus were greeted by a simple stool, megaphone and a sign encouraging them to "say something nice."

Here is what the students did in return.
