New Tap Room Repurposes Rockford High School Bleachers as Tables

The new taproom above Shooter's Bar & Grill pours nothing but local and regional brews. The all-new interior design includes old wooden bleachers as tables.

This is about as local as it can get with a Rockford establishment. The new "Shooter's Tap Room" is now open on the second level at Don Carter Lanes. The former pool hall has been gutted, redesigned, and now features local and regional brews on tap with a new menu. (Try the 'Back Pocket DJ, you won't regret it.)

The new-look features include a a fun cartoonish brewery theme throughout the taproom, a massive garage door leading to the outdoor patio. There are also refurbished gym bleachers from Guilford High School that are now high tables for seating.

That special menu for the taproom is pretty awesome, too. I tried the 40 Winks BBQ burger and it was massive.
