New ‘Shop on State’ Event Kicks off Thursday in Downtown Rockford

The Merry & Bright Christmas celebration is in full swing in downtown Rockford, and tonight features a brand new holiday shopping called "Shop On State" you will want to check out!

Fourteen downtown shops and eateries will be featuring deals, free treats and specials tonight (Thursday) from 5 to 9 p.m., and there's even a new elegant wine tasting event called "Wine at Waterside" taking place at the Waterside building across from the City Market Pavilion.

The mission behind Shop on State is simple; to help build up the community with another great way for us all to get together. It is free to attend, however you do need tickets to attend the Wine at Waterside event. There are two tasting times scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $30 (plus fees).
