You have plastic light up Nativity scenes around your neighborhood, but have you ever seen a living Nativity? This one of a kind drive-thru Live Nativity has five scenes depicting the birth of Jesus complete with animal and love characters. You have to see this event right in our own backyard.

Riverside Community Church at 6816 North Second Street in Machesney Park, Illinois will highlight their annual Drive-Thru Live Nativity this weekend December 12 and 13 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 pm each day.

The live animals really add to the drama and realism of the Nativity and they are donated from Summerfield Zoo in Belvidere. The characters are so believable, you are transported to a 'Silent Night' right in front of your eyes.

This is the fourth year for the live Nativity and  each year, organizers say between 2,500 and 3,00 people roll through the Nativity.

Even more great news. It is a free event, a gift from the church to the community. Donations are not expected.
